A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to one’s device (e.g. a phone or your computer). Cookies allow us to recognize your browser, while another cookie that we have may be able to see and store your preferences. Cookies all have their own small tasks, however collectively speaking, they are able to change your browsing experience. There are two types of cookies that we use on the Becase Platform: “session cookies” and “persistent cookies”. Session cookies expire when you close your browser, while persistent cookies remain on your device even after you close your browser, but can still be used after choosing to access the Platform again.

Every time you visit the Becase Site, we automatically place cookies on your computer. As defined earlier, cookies are small data files that are transferred to a person’s device. Virtually all websites send cookies, and they are mostly used to uniquely identify your browser and/or to store information and settings on your device. Becase Platform places cookies in your device because it allows us to recognize you, provide a customized experience of the site depending on your interests, and to detect instances when and where fraud and hacking may occur.
In many websites, you can manage cookie preferences, and these websites will often give you the freedom to choose whether you want to receive cookies or not. Becase Platform works the same way, as every time you log in to the Site, you will be asked by a small notification to the top of your screen whether or not you want to accept notifications. Although that allows you to prevent certain cookies from appearing, certain cookies like those of the more persistent type may stay on your device. Should that happen, it is recommended that you study the settings of your browser, as different browsers have different locations for Cookie settings. By configuring the Cookie settings of your browser right, you can tell your browser to both delete all cookies existing on the browser, and to disallow cookies, so future trips to our Platform and to other websites will not plant cookies on your device. Before doing so however, please note that choosing to remove or reject cookies and/or clearing your local storage may affect the features, availability, and functionalities that are available to you on the Becase Platform and our other websites.
Flash Cookies, otherwise known as Local Shared Object, and other similar technologies is another information-grabbing file that we use on the site. A Flash Cookie is a Cookie that is sent by a Web server to a client when the browser requires content that is supported by Adobe Flash Player. Flash Cookies not only allow our site to run applications or features of Becase that require Adobe Flash Player, but it also greatly enhances your usage of the site.
Becase Platform utilizes Flash Cookies to personalize and enhance your online experience by enabling content that needs Flash to play. These applications are commonly animations or video clips, however, they can also be similar content. Flash Cookies also serve us another purpose, which is to provide additional security to the site, to collect site metrics for our data analyzing activities, and to remember settings and preferences. These functions make Flash Cookies similar to Cookies, plus the support for Flash Player of course. Unlike regular Cookies, Flash Cookies are managed through a different interface from your web browser, thus, you may need to visit Adobe’s website to see how Flash Cookies work.
Unlike regular Cookies, by default browsers require a confirmation from you to enable Flash Cookies to work, so from the onset you already have control over whether to allow Flash Cookies to embed themselves in your browser or not. However, by disabling Cookies in your browser, you may also disable Flash Cookies. If you disable them, please note Flash-based content like videos, animations will not work on our site.
Pixel Tags and Web Beacons
Both Pixel Tags and Web Beacons are tiny graphic images and small blocks of code that are placed on the website pages, ads, and emails that allow Becase Platform to determine if you have performed a specific action on the Site. These small files are able to tabulate whether or not you have chosen to click the various links around the site, and will let us know when you have accessed the website or have opened the email. We need Pixel Tags and Web Beacons to help measure the responses that we get from our communication materials like advertisements and messages. This will help us determine whether we need to change the way we disseminate the information, or whether we need to change the site layout or not, etc.
Server Logs and Other Similar Technologies
Server Logs allow us to easily take a look back at extra information that we find important. By using Server Logs, we are able to see what devices you use to access Becase Platform, what operating system you use, the type of browser you use, your domain, and other system settings that help us make a rough estimate of how people access our Site. Furthermore, Server Logs allow us to take note of our IP Address, letting us take note of where you access Becase Platform. An IP Address is important and is something that is unavoidable, as without it, devices will have trouble identifying and communicating with each other on the Web. We may also collect information on the website that you have accessed before visiting ours, and the website that you have chosen to access after visiting ours. All in all, Server Logs and other similar technologies allow us to determine our website traffic depending on location, and also take note of what kind of device people use to access our Site, so our Technical Team will take note of improvements that may be done so that more people would be encouraged to use Becase Platform.
We take note of your device-related information so that we can authenticate your identity. For example, using a combination of IP Address, browser information, and other location-identifying technologies, we can note down the devices that you commonly use to access our Site. Through this, we can grant you faster log-in times, as we may not have to ascertain your identity if you choose to use our Site with a set amount of devices. For other Users like unknown ones and new registrants, we use device-related information on them so it would be easier for us to note if they have a history of committing fraud and other Site compromising activities, thus further enhancing the security of Becase Platform.
Becase’s Third-Party Partners
Because Becase is a fast-growing platform, it is rather difficult for us to harness all the information that these Cookies provide us. Thus, we sometimes ask help from certain Third-Party Services to do the analyzing and the processing of the Cookies for us. Specifically, Third-Party Service Partners aid us in (i) analyzing how you use the platform by noting the other Third-Party Services that you use or come from, (ii) market and advertise our Services to you on the Platform and on other Third-Party websites that you use, (iii) help us detect and prevent incidents of fraud and other Site compromising activities, and/or (iv) collect information about your activity on our Platform, other sites that you use, and the ads or links that you choose to collect from. An example of one such Third-Party Service that we use is Google Analytics.
Third-Party Services that we partner with may use tracking technologies to know what your interests are, so that you are presented with better, more targeted advertisements or promos. By measuring the effectiveness of the ads that we run, these Third-Party Services help us deliver advertisements to you that are more in line with your interests. Targeting and advertising cookies that we use may include Google. For more information on the general activities of these
tracking Third-Party Services, and/or should you choose to not let our Third-Party Services use your device information, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative Opt-out service to opt-out of our Third-Party Partners by accessing this link. To opt out of data collection efforts by Google Analytics, you can choose to download their Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on by accessing this link. To the extent that the advertising technology is integrated with our Site and you choose to opt-out of it will not mean that you would not receive advertisements anymore. The only difference is that the advertisements that you receive will not be tailored to your interests. Also, we do not control any of these opt-out links, so we are not to be held responsible for the availability or accuracy of these mechanisms.
Third Party Social Plugins
Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies by visiting the Help portion of your browser’s toolbar.

Your mobile device may allow you to control cookies through its settings function. Refer to your device manufacturer’s instructions for more information.
If you choose to decline cookies, some parts of the Becase Platform may not work as intended or may not work at all.
